The National Film and Video Censors Board has set up three panels to analyse a new movie starring popular Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky. The movie titled, "Bobrisky in Love" features Idris Okunneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. In the movie, Bobrisky plays the role of a transgender who travelled out of the country as a man named Cherechi but returned to the village as a woman named Cherry B, to the shock of his fiancee and relatives. A top official of the NFVCB told The Punch that three separate panels have been set up at the zonal levels to analyse and classify the movie and it could be banned seeing as Nigeria has laws that prohibit homosexuality, therefore work of arts that promote it cannot be endorsed by the government. A 45-Year-Old Man has been arrested for allegedly raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter in Akwa Ibom state. Joseph Sunday Essien, is accused of sexually abusing Patience Edet Edem on 4 different occasions. The girl reported to her mother but the woman didn’t believe the child. She only believed when she caught him in the act. The mother, who has two children for the suspect, reported her husband to the police after making the shocking discovery. The State Police Commissioner, Musa Kimo, while parading the suspect said that the father carried out the last heinous act on January 13, 2019. The mother of the victim, who married the suspect after the death of her former husband – the father of the victim – said that her recent husband left her in their bedroom on the day of the final abuse and snuck into the girl’s room to rape her. A Bikita woman who slept with a 13-year-old nephew pleaded guilty and said she committed the offence because she was ho_rny after her husband spent a year in South Africa without coming back. Veronica Tombere (26) of Farm number 148 Nyahunda, Chief Mazungunye is being charged with aggravated indecent assault. She appeared before Bikita resident Magistrate Calisto Mutema. The abuse happened in the grazing fields. It is the State case led by Chamunorwa Honye that on December 31, 2018 the accused went to where Tombere was herding goats and allegedly kissed the complainant. She dropped his trousers and to knee level and removed his panty. She then had se_xual intercourse with him once without his consent. Tombere said she was ho_rny because her husband is in South Africa for a year without coming back. The matter was referred to the regional court for trial.

A driver with an unnamed private school in Osogbo, Osun State, Oluwatomisin Oyelakin, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates Court for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor after school hours on January 15th 2019. While being arraigned in court yesterday, the police prosecutor, Sergeant Temitope Fatoba, the accused was a driver in the school the four-year-old victim attended and allegedly committed the act after school hours. Sergeant Fatoba said on the day the incident happened, Oyelakin dropped off the other pupils in his vehicle at their various homes and he was left with the victim. He then poceeded to have canal knowledge of his victim in a secluded place. The prosecutor said the offence contravenes sections 360 and 218 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun State, 2003. Uganda’s president, Yoweri Museveni has banned sports betting and that no new licences should be issued to companies nor renewing of permits for the existing ones. According to Minister of State for Finance, Mr David Bahati, the President gave the directive saying that gambling has diverted attention of the youth from hard work. “We have received a directive from President Museveni to stop licensing sports betting, gaming and gambling companies. The President has now directed the board which has been regulating them. From now onwards, no new companies are going to be licensed. Those which are already registered, no renewal of licences when they expire,” Mr Bahati revealed on Sunday during a church service in Rugarama Hill in western Kabale town. Mr Bahati said church leaders who have been against sports betting can now praise the Lord because their prayers have been answered. A vlogger hanged himself after he was found “sobbing uncontrollably” because he misplaced his iPhone at an Arctic Monkeys party last year, an inquest heard. Archie Day, 20, of Bishop Stortford, Herts in England, took his own life on October 5 at Peel Park halls of residence at Salford University in Greater Manchester. A coroner said the undergraduate was “ extremely upset ” about losing his phone before he hanged himself. A lecturer at the College of Health in Rivers state, Mr Jonathan, has been accused of beating his wife, Ole, to death, just two weeks after she welcomed their child. In a post shared on Facebook, the aunt of the deceased, Nkesi Wogu, alleged that Mr Jonathan, is currently on the run after beating Ole to death in the presence of her mother. She wrote, “My niece with a two weeks old baby was beaten to death by her husband the man is oh the run his from etche and also a witness. The Czech Republic has decided to pay Nigerians and other migrants to encourage them to leave the central European country. The offer is under a programme that focuses particularly on migrants from Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Mongolia, Russia, and Vietnam. According to a report published on RemixNews, a Czech Republic-based newspaper, the Czech government would pay any migrants who would voluntarily leave the country and other EU countries 4,000 EUR. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested six suspected Internet fraudsters in separate raids carried out at various times across a number of locations in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory. The suspects: Chemezie Valentine Ezeife, Onwochei Chibuzor John, Onwochei Joel, Marvin Nwankwo, Prince Ojenike, and Jude Olatekobowale, were arrested following a tip-off.   Ezeife was arrested on January 16, 2019 at the Life Camp residential area in Abuja, following intelligence reports of shady activities traced to him. Among items recovered from him were a Mercedes Benz C300, Toyota Camry and Lexus Jeep, Seagate hard drive, four laptop computers, an ECOWAS international passport, various wrist watches, two iPhones and blackberry phones, and a Samsung phone. Presidential candidate of the  People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ,  Atiku Abubakar has questions to answer when he returns from the U.S, Minister of Information and Culture,  Lai Mohammed  has said. According to  The Guardian , Mohammed said this while briefing State House correspondents on Friday. The decision to question Atiku is “following fresh evidence that he benefitted from slush funds that led to the collapse of Bank PHB,” the minister said “The federal government has paper trail which shows that he benefitted from N156 million. The  People’s Democratic Party (PDP)  presidential candidate  Atiku Abubakar has said he doesn’t believe the 2019 elections will be free and fair. Speaking to the BBC, Atiku said he hasn’t seen any evidence that the present administration is willing to organize a credible election. The Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation has sent a letter to the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, asking that the bank accounts of the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, to be frozen immediately.  According to Punch, the AGF in a letter dated January 14th with reference number HAGF/2019/E06/Vol.01,  said the order was in line with Executive Order 06 on the preservation of assets connected with corruption. In the document signed by Abiodun Aikomo on behalf of the AGF, Onnoghen’s dollar, pounds, euro and naira accounts with Standard Chartered Bank were requested to be frozen.   A middle-aged man who claimed to be a pastor, was today nabbed with a bag full of female pants and bra in Auchi, Edo state. According to reports, the pastor who is known for going about to preach in the mornings, was accosted by members of the state vigilante and asked what was the content of a Ghana Must Go bag he was always going about with. A search carried out showed the bag contained different types of female pants and bra. He was taken to his church where more pants and bra were discovered.

A 39-year-old man named Farida Banti, of Hungu village in the Mariga Local Government Area of the state,  has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Maijari, with a cutlass during one of their frequent fights.  Speaking to newsmen, Banti said his wife lacked manners and that he was forced to send her back to her parents house to learn some manners. He said they engaged in a fight recently and he used a cutlass on her. Banti said he regrets his action but that women should learn how to respect their spouses. “I inflicted deep cuts on my wife, which resulted in her death, because she refused to obey me. In fact, it was extreme provocation that made me kill my wife. Women must learn to obey their husbands so that what happened to my wife will not happen to them.” he said Banti will be charged to court as soon as investigations into the case is completed
